2011 Resolution

2011 would be the most memorable year in my life.
  1. I've graduated from university.
  2. I successfully obtained permission from parents to send me to makeup school.
  3. I won Champion for makeup competition in Kuching area.
  4. I won 2nd runner-up for nationwide makeup competition.
  5. I performed on BCCK stage for 2000 plus audiences- Dance Me A Story Theatre.
  6. I went to Singapore all by myself in July (That's a great leap for me as I was so shy until i never order food myself)
  7. I slept in hospital for many nights (i was so scared to go hospital before this) just to accompany sister who had undergone spinal surgery (Yes! she is doing fine now!)
  8. I started my career at OSK Investment Bank (Yeah I'm an OL now)
  9. Yes, I've made so many unbelievable achievements this year but I lost the one I love. This sacrifice is too huge that I couldn't handle anymore, so
Baby, Please Come Back To Me.

The dark side of make up industry or school

I found this interesting posting by a member from Cozycot Forum.
I was so upset and do not know if i should proceed to register
in a make-up school in Singapore.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

I can write a book when I come to this topic! It's a very good thing to transform you hobby into a career. A lot of us decided to be a makeup artist so that we can share our passion to other people. Unfortunatley, this industry is not as simple as a passion. It needs a lot of hard work, and luck and it's very competitive. A lot of schools would not tell you the dark side of the industry. Also, a lot of schools make use of our ignorance - they ask us to buy a lot of so-called professional products from their company to make money. We, being the non-professional, would always spend extra money because of this.

I can tell you I have been one of them. I earned very little knowledge in makeup school while I spent a fortune on it. I also found that a lot of makeup artists haven't receive *formal* training before that get famous. One way of getting into the field is by assisting makeup artists. Some also gain experience from a counter SA. Going to a makeup school is NOT a pre-requisite to a makeup artist!

However, if you really decide to go to makeup school for various reasons, choose a good one! At least, do not go to the bad ones. There are a few points for reference to distinguish the bad ones from good ones.

1. The Syllabus

There are a lot areas in makeup, e.g, straight beauty, editorial, TV/Film, Character makeup, etc etc. Each fields require *DIFFERENT* skills. A short course cannot cover all the skills. You need to learn them thoroughly in 3-4 lessons. Unfortunately, some schools see the human weakness of greed. They include everything in a short course. You can literally learn NOTHING from such a course!

2. Materials and tools

Some schools require you to buy makeup and tools from them. They tell you those outrageouly priced stuff are professional and you cannot get them else where. A lot of schools don't even tell you what you need before the course starts. That makes you have to buy from them in the lesson when you are told to have those things. Please ask the school what you will need. I remembered last time the school refused to tell me and they said that the instructor will tell me what to buy in the lesson. It ended up asking me to buy from them. The classroom would turned into a cosmetics mall everytime the lesson started!

3. The instructor

Some schools hired their fresh graduates to teach (to provide job opportunity?!). They have NO to little experience in makeup artistry at all. Moreover, a renowned makeup artists may not know how to teach as well. Celebrities makeup artist may NOT have the very good skills either. I have read from a magazine that celebrities like artists who flatter them instead of very good skills. Therefore, celebrity makeup artists maybe an advertisement only. It has not much to do with good classes.

Things you must ask when you are deciding

1. Ask them about the syllabus thoroughly. Do not choose courses that included so many things. If you are only a beginner, start with beauty and corrective makeup first. Later then you can move to media makeup and lastly, avant garde makeup.

2. Ask them what you will need for the whole course. Insist that you need to know and you know how to decide. There is so many resources online that you can refer to. If they refuse to tell you, go away and do not turn you head.

3. Also ask them who will be teaching in the class. Try and ask them if you can observe the class and ask the students as well.

Investing in a makeup course maybe a good step to your career. You want to learn and make the money worth. But please equip yourselves with knowledge of this industry. A lot of businessmen made use of our ignorance and squeeze money from our pocket.
I will talk about what you should prepare before the course commence later. Laa_cat

Contact lense infection

Desire Big Eyes (Gray) and orange wig. Looking great?

DO NOT BUY DESIRE CONTACT LENSE!

This is my first time getting eye infection due to contact lense problem. I thought I'm hygiene and careful enough. I couldn't believe I'm still having red eye.

I swear I never purchase contact lense online cuz I think they are not safe enough, normally manufacturer and certificates are unknown. And I bought this Desire contact lense from optical shop. At least you gotta sell something passed examination and verified certificates in your shop, right?

Ya, Desire contact lense. The salesgirl said this is new stock got promotion so I bought. Not much I can describe this brand but recently I just found that the ambassadors were local young models, Cindy Chen and Ben Sim. I was like "wtf they can't even afford to hire local celebrities Fish Leong or Gary Chow mer?"

This is my first pair of color lense. I am really really very careful in taking care of it cz I want to keep it for 3 months. I bought it so that I could wear it together with my wig which made me looked more Wonder Girl. That was my last time (28 August) wearing it before I wear it again today. And, ya, as you've seen, one of my eye got infected.

If it doesn't recover on the next morning, I gotta go to see doctor. Wish me good luck then.

Brave to face fear

Found this quote and I love it so much.

"All that ever holds somebody back, I think, is fear. For a minute I had fear. [Then] I went into the [dressing] room and shot my fear in the face..."
— Lady Gaga

I have to be as bold as Lady Gaga. Her past and her performance have given me inspiration to live the life I want. Now it's time to face my darkest fear.

I fear of losing marks in final exam.
I fear of tough questions in exam.
I fear of insufficient time to write the answers.
I fear of blank mind.
I fear of looking others writing smoothly.
I fear of failure.

p/s: Unbelievable! I'm writing such post. I thought I only saw this kinda content is Zesan's blog?

From PMS to PMDD

Well, if you know what's Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder then it could perfectly explain my abnormal behavior today. I know i have this syndrome but seems like things are getting more serious than before. I lost control in the public today.

Then i try to figure out what makes me break down.

  • Today, I woke at 6.30 am (so early!) just to get my house chores done so i can stay in school to study for whole day.
  • I was lazy to drive so I called Jeff to pick me but he arrived at 835am instead of 8am.
  • So, for sure there's no more individual seat in library and I have to sit with people. (I'm such a weird person. I can't sit with others or else i can't stop talking.)
  • There was an individual seat with papers and pen only. The owner not even back after 1030. So I grabbed all his stuffs and put on another table. I occupied that seat.
  • I wasn't feeling well after doing bad so i went washroom. When i back, i saw two Indians pointing at my seat. Probably they are back. Yet I AM NOT BRAVE ENOUGH TO GO BACK TO MY SEAT. THAT'S WHEN TEARS START ROLLING DOWN. I spent ten minutes in the washroom and walking around at 2nd floor just to make myself calm but i failed.

I broke because I don't get my favourite seat? or Jeff did not help me when I chicken out? Or I saw something unpleasant (Zesan you know what I mean)? All these are not strong enough to make me burst. Probably I'm stressed of study and compressing my anger for days of having a problematic sister who is so emo.

I think i need a psychologist. I'm getting worse from Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) to PMDD.

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH EMO!

Mini blog with iTouch application

Sg day 1 (24 Apr):

Ion Orchard gt my heaven, it's Sephora! Too bad this time can't make it to Takashimaya and City Hall. Hmm... I'm a shopaholic.

Went Zouk and got up with a foreigner on the dance floor. Wha! Prolly won't let Jeff know n Steffi would be the only who know it. That was my first time saw Dennis eat ppl tofu. It was so crowded when we went out. He just put his hand on a gal's body n started touching the way out. Guess he touched 2-3 waists that night. Eeew!

Sg day 2- FCK casino (25 Apr):

Sentosa Casino so strict! I'm left alone outside straying. Luckily I saw celebrities and found the entrance to Universal Studio.

Sg day 3 (26 Apr):

The tour guide said there's two kinds of car in sg. They are normal car and off-peak car. Off-peak car is diff in the way that it drives anytime other than 8-8 and on sat n sun only. 17% price discount on these cars, S$70 road tax anually only. The people choose car based on COE, S$ 20,000 for ten years. Price based on bidding. The method helps test on market trend. 50% of cars in sg are below 5 yrs old.

The tour guide is so nice. She's doing more than expected. I thought she would only bring us onto the bus, explaining the landmarks and that's it. But she's doing more than that. She knows alomost everything from ERP (Electronic Road Pricing), car preferences, history of Singapore name, to gov supports for SMEs.

SG day 4 (28 Apr):

Dennis so hiao. Go geylang don wan walk with us but walk alone so the China girl can attract him. Eew. The girl said, "Try ma try ma, service good de." Haha!

Today tried alcoholic ice cream. Freaking thick lor. But I'm loving it. Hehe. Nth special today. The speaker in the congress quite inspiring. Thanks 77th Street for sponsoring us the S$ 650 entry ticket.

Whenever George introducing our sch, he always mentioned there are 4 Australian campus in Malaysia, they are Monash, Nottingham, Curtin and Swinburne. He is trying to tie Swinburne with those big campus.

May the 2nd:

It was Saturday when we went Genting. The way up the hill was already very threatening that the Indian drove so fast. When coming down, it's even more exciting. There were 6 of us (exclude driver) squeezing in a Persona. All of us sitting at the back got numb legs. Dennis alone sit in the front and couldn't join our laughters at the back. Steffi really the one that cheers us everyday.

We had Jogoya for dinner. So drunk after unlimited flow of cocktails and red wine. But I ate oyster which caused me sleepless during midnight. I'm writting this to thank those who sang birthday songs to me at 12am. Thanks Dennis, Steffi, Ren Chorng, Siew Ten and En Thein. Alex, Zesan and sis for the sms. Too bad can't check fb for the wishes.

I love iPod Touch

Wee.... I got my own iTouch finally!
It's my anniversary plus birthday gift.
Yaya, our annivesary is coming. It falls on the 11 April.
That's why I planned my 21st birthday celebration with anniversary together.
Too sad that this year I won't be around for my birthday as I'll be going on Study Tour to Singapore, KL and Brunei.

Anyway, thanks Jeff for this iTouch.

Happy April Fool

Had a great April Fool by changing my relationship status from "in a relationship" to "married" in Facebook. I even bluffed I got baby and going to deliver in November this year. And, surprisingly, there were a lot of comments complaining I did not send invitation cards to them. Well of course I didn't send cards cuz these are not true^^

Besides fooling around in Facebook, I also told Zesan to wear florish clothes but I didn't wear it actually. Haha... Zesan is so naive. In other words, trustworthy too. I love you my dearie, Zesan♥

Anyway, happy April Fool, my blogders!

Wish List

Keep feeling that I got a lot of things wanna buy.
Too much temptations, too much wishes.

Thing that occupied the first place in my wish list is iPhone!!
I've been loving iTouch since Mimili has it 2 years back.
And he has it too.
Mian has iPhone.
I love the applications inside.
Since my mobile is dying, so I'm targeting iPhone instead of iTouch!
Hope dd buy for me but i know it's an unreachable dream.

Second, I love Che Che New York!
This brand is created by 3 sisters from Hong Kong but now residents of New York.
I just love the design for their watches.
So young so energetic.
But... not cheap too.

Third, it's ADMJ bag!
It's a Japanese brand but some research said the price for the same ADMJ bag in Korea is cheaper than in Japan.
Wonder how the economic theory works.
Got to know this brand from my favorite show Nv Ren Wo Zui Da.
Again, so young so energetic design.

I dunno why I want MAC cosmetics although I already have their products.
Probably there's always not enough for a girl to have a complete make up set.
I got endless wish for cosmetics.
From mascara to loose powder.
From concealer to lip liner.

Lastly,
I would always end up buying a nail color whenever I got empty hand after a 2 hour shopping.
See how much I love nail painting.
I love colours!

It's my honor to work with Lance cuz I like his photos since two years back.
And I found him improve a lot in his skills.
It's always good to work with innovative young ones.
He's just the same age as me eh!
And Brandon, I randomly found his account on facebook.
I love all the girls portraits he shot.
It's so lucky for me to meet him.
All that long, I will remember their names forever.

A hot hot photoshooting session

Mian and I had an outdoor photoshooting session at Museum Sarawak. It was a real hot hot afternoon.

Here are the 'backstage photos':

Me doing childish pose when Jeff was like a paparazzi shooting from a further place.

Can't stop laughing whenever I see this picture.
See that jeff so potential to be model.

Hahaha.

That's me. I was telling myself " I'm Korean moi"
in order to make that pose.
Haha!
The photographer: Brandon Eu

It's really a great experience.
Feel like we're great models, serviced by great photographers.

My sis took this in the public toilet and wanted me to edit in this way.
This chick got high after some flashes of camera.

A candid shot.

She even did something annoying behind the sleeping vagrant.

We've got professional paparazzi here.

It's really a tough job as a photographer.
Lie on the ground and shoot for the best angle.
We appreciate the photos so much.
*touched*

Potential model here.
Interested agent can contact her for coverpage model.
Hehe!

Oh ya, before I forget, introduce you our photographer,
Lance Lance.

Told ya it's a tough job.
He had to demo poses, demo as if he was the model.

I don't know how would the photographers think of us. We are neither professional nor photogenic. They might think we are the typical girls that dreamed to be model. No. These photos would bring great meaning for us in our entire life. And, boys and girls, I strongly recommend you to look for these two photographers on your actual wedding day, party occasions or portraiture shooting: Lance Lance and Brandon Eu.

Thanks Lance, Brandon.

Hello, long time no see.

Hello, to those who are still following my blog, LONG TIME NO SEE! Facebook is really a useful networking site that I'm logging in so frequently, more frequent than I update my blog.

I blog with pics but then I found that facebook is 'smarter' in a sense that people can leave comment right under the photo. Blog is too simple and not much comments i get. Too less interaction with you all, my blogders.

Anyway, here are some photos that you don't find in my facebook album.

Just bought this lip balm from Skin Food. It's soooo cute that I bought it without checking the price before hand. RM 35 for that small portion, quite expensive. And I dunno how many new lip balms I have in my bag, still buying this one.

And I successfully collected 40 Guardian stamps.

In exchange for this Big Headz Toy- Giraffe. Not yet give him a name. What can he be called?

And last but not least, camwhore pics of me during my cny stay in Bintulu.

Check more pictures of me in my facebook. This blog is kinda deadly.

It's a happy day

Got my items bought in Ebay and Bonuslink online. I'm so happy now.

A gym ball. Bought from Bonuslink online. Now I can play with it anytime I want at home!
Slim slim slim is my mission during this summer holiday.

And this! A belly dance hip scarf from Ebay!
Finally I have my own and can show off during classes.
It's a 323 g/ coins. Many coins means makes more noises. But heavy as well...

Love it! So unique and I guess no one has the same as mine.

Last but not least, laughter for today:
How much does lagging cost? It's RM39.90!
(Should spell as 'legging')

Feel thankful to all I have.

YES. I'm such a lucky person. Just now, I went Studio 23 to practise dance from 7.15-10pm. On and off, I keep an eye on my car which was parked on the rocky road (illegal parking slot). It was all fine until 10pm, a worker, who was unloading furniture at the shop beside, came up to the studio. He picked a car key on the ground and asked whose. I was grabbing my bag and tried hard to find my car key. So hope that I really could 'touched' the key in that black levis shopping bag. (Levis, please make the bag white next time) NO! My sis reminded me that was my car key in the worker's hand.

How could I describe my feeling now? What if the worker didn't return my car key? And I didn't know I dropped it, when and where. The worker could simply press the button and see which car was unlocked! Why didn't he do that? A worker like him, whose salary is relatively low, could simply drive away a free car. Why didn't he do that? I'm so thankful now. Thank God and thank the one who are so honest to return my car key. Really wish that he could have a blessful life and healthy family. He deserved it.

As you all know, I came Kuching alone to study. No parents. If I lost the car, my life will all in mess. HELPLESS.

I really Thank GOD for giving me such a good life. Lucky in terms of daily activities, not $$...

Last but not least, do come and have a look at Studio 23's performance on 16, 17 January 2010. You'll definitely love one of the dances or martial arts.

Photographers, hope you all going too. Wish to see the beautiful pics and don't forget to tag me in Facebook or email me.

New Year Countdown Party

Thanks Mian and Mika for bringing me to Links on the last day of 2009. It was a great time meeting great people. My first time having party at Links. Really amazing view from the top of the tower. Once again, thanks Mian. Don't forget to invite me for more activities!!!

Mian and me drinking the cocktail.

One big jar for me... Wahahha!!! Song ah!

Another camwhore pic... ♥ Mian

Standing on the table... The gang really crazy ones... Lotsa fun. But when the guys' turn to stand on, and the table cracked... So funny! Vandalism.

The couples... Ya ya ya, I lonely, I was single that night. Hmm... No one came over and treated me one bottle... Sad... Guess I was wearing too much.

Mian was so attractive in this pic...

Told ya they are fun and crazy!

Girls... They are Karen and Lydia if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks this couple... Thanks for not forgetting me until the last day of 2009.
*Touched*

Girls! All pretty ones... Phewitt!

p/s: Have not get myself really sit down and recall the past year and write a big summary.
