Ullambana

I guess you might think that this post is going to have random stuffs cuz the title is "Ullambana" which sounds like ochibala. Well, ullambana is 盂蘭盆節. Now you get it?

It's generally known as Ghost Day. Still don't know? Here's part of the paragraph I found in Wikipedia. About 目連救母 的故事.

Mahāmaudgalyāyana (目連) mother had been reborn in a lower realm. She was suffering of hunger in the lower realm. He eased his mother's suffering by receiving the instructions of feeding pretas (hungry ghosts) from the Buddha. Afterall, his mother was reborn as a dog under the care of a noble family.

I'm so glad that I had a chance to watch this festival at 3rd mile market. So amazing! This is my first time!

The traditional kolo mee stall located at 1st floor of the market.

Kolo mee..... Yummy!

The main table with flowers, teas, candles and the God-in-charge.

Now I have an evidence on why non-business (here, religious activity) has to do their PEST analysis. See, in term of 'technology', they are so advanced, even with electrical lights on it!!!

Grabbing food. Most of them grabbed for cigarettes. =.="
Sii kii bai bai~ (economic situation is bad)

Fruits, dried noodles, candies and so on on the ground. Open for public to grab.

They are waiting the time to squeeze and grab!

Walao eh, bring guni bag somemore. Grab as much as possible. It's all free though.

Wonder what are these for. Cannot grab one.

There's sukarela army and bomba. Situation is under control. Quite safe.

Fire work!

Last but not least, burning of paper dolls, paper cars, and paper notes.

It's a great chance to catch photos too.
Cool camera~~

Dunno if he's reporter or photographer.

p/s: I spend my Ghost Day watching this ritual, what about you?
